Stop me if you've heard this one: "AI agents are going to revolutionize how you use your phone!" Yeah, I've been hearing that since 2024. And for two years, most of it was vaporware slick demos that fell apart the second you tried to do something real.

But 2026 is different. I'll give it that.

I've spent the last few weeks installing, configuring, cursing at, and occasionally being impressed by every mobile AI agent I could get my hands on. Some of these are legitimately game-changing. Others are polished marketing wrapped around mediocre tech. And a few surprised me in ways I didn't expect.

This isn't another "top 10 best tools" listicle. This is what I actually found when I put these things to work.

Apple Intelligence & Siri

The philosophical opposite of Google. Privacy-first with Private Cloud Compute genuinely impressive engineering. But less capable as an agent. Apple treats AI as a background tool, not an autonomous actor. If you want your phone to execute complex tasks autonomously, Gemini is further along. But a real agent on ios is still a work in progress.

Samsung Galaxy AI

Galaxy S26 ships with Gemini at a deeper level than stock Android. Live Translate during calls is surprisingly decent. Circle to Search remains underrated. The catch: Samsung hardware only, feature fragmentation across models.

So what should you actually use?
